Although laptops bring great convenience to our daily work, they do so at the expense of hard drive space and comfort. Recently, a crowdfunding project called Basepro hopes to solve these two problems through a built-in hard drive laptop stand .
The casing of Basepro is made of electroplated aluminum alloy and adopts a wedge-shaped design, which creates enough space for the hard drive to be added. There are 4 USB 3.0 interfaces on the side, and the hard drive is also powered by USB, so there is no need to use an additional power cord.
Basepro is currently raising money on Indiegogo and provides a variety of models for backers to choose from. The hard drive-free version is priced at US$69 (approximately RMB 422), and the 1TB version is US$119 ( Approximately RMB 730). The final retail price of the hard disk-less version will be US$119, and the 1TB version will be US$189 (approximately RMB 1,156). In addition, Basepro also has 2TB and 4TB versions, priced at US$149 (approximately RMB 911) and US$229 (approximately RMB 1,400) respectively.
This laptop stand is small enough to be put into a backpack, but the trouble it causes seems to be greater than the convenience it provides.
Between screen height and ergonomics, Basepro presents a confusing compromise. The production company says Basepro allows users to maintain good posture, allowing their wrists and arms to relax. But when using it, the author's elbow felt a little uncomfortable. The highly elevated display can indeed help reduce the pressure on the neck and back, but even with this stand, I still need to lower my head to see the display.
Considering that most people use computers incorrectly, Basepro can be said to be a brave attempt. If you have neck and back pain from looking down at a screen all day, this might work on its own. But from the author's own experience, it does not help much in relieving wrist and elbow pain.
The above is an introduction to the actual test evaluation of Basepro laptop stand . I hope it will be helpful to you!
